In 1869, the West Branch Index, a small newspaper, was first printed by George Barrington in the small town of West Branch, Iowa.
Six years later, in 1875, L.W. Raber established a weekly newspaper, the original printing of the West Branch Times.
Taking its name from the town's original publishers, Barrington & Raber Publishing Company will release their first publication in paperback and digital formats in the fall of 2024.
Our mission is to support authors through the publishing process, enabling more individuals to combine their interest in history with their passion for writing.
Taking an idea and turning it into a book can be a daunting and expensive challenge that keeps many writers from even trying.
Our goal is to inspire them to tell their story, bringing history to life, one page at a time.
As a veteran owned business, it is important to us to support other veterans pursuing the dream of writing. For that reason, we are committed to building a team of authors who have served in the US military and share our passion for history and those who lived it.
We believe that veterans offer a unique perspective on the historical events depicted in both fiction and non-fiction.
